Rachel blends comedy and strategy to make listeners better Magic players and people.

 

Rachel Weeks is a Los Angeles-based podcaster, writer and comedian from the western suburbs of Chicago. With years of stand-up comedy experience, Rachel has transitioned her sharp sense of humor into the world of Magic: The Gathering as the host of the popular YouTube channel and Podcast, The Command Zone.

In addition to hosting the weekly podcast, Rachel has traveled the world playing Magic in front of screaming audiences as a performer on Game Knights Live. And has made herself known as a beloved guest on other popular channels like Tolarian Community College, Commander at Home, and more. With her comedic style, she brings an engaging and knowledgeable approach to the complexities of the game, making it accessible and fun for casual and competitive players alike.

Beyond Magic, Rachel is a regular player on the live Dungeons & Dragons Spelljammer adventure Better Than Heroes along with fellow comedians and castmates, Andrew Orvedahl, Aaron Urist, Jordan Doll and Dungeon Master Harlan Kelly.

Before content creation, Rachel honed her craft as a stand-up comedian, performing regularly at Denver’s famous Comedy Works and in festivals across the country, including High Plains, 208, and Limestone comedy festivals. In 2018, Rachel was named The Best Undiscovered Comedian from Colorado by Thrillist and has appeared on NBC’s First Look, Seeso’s Hidden America with Jonah Ray, and the RISK! podcast.

Today, Rachel continues to explore the intersections of gaming, storytelling, and comedy, creating content that entertains, educates, and connects people around the world.
